Stamp Crazy with Alison

Whimsical…again!

Hello Stampers,

I think I’m officially obsessed with the Garden Whimsey Stamp Set and I’m preparing for a class tomorrow using this set.  My customers can purchase the stamp set and receive a class where we make 4 cards using the set for $50 – it’s like getting the class for $5.  Or they can come and just make the cards for $20 – there’s still room if you’d like to come.  Email me for details.

On this card I wanted to use one of the new In Colours that hasn’t received as much attention from me as the others – Groovy Guava.  This is actually a really pretty colour of ink and the ribbon is really beautiful.  It goes beautifully with the Soft Sky and Blue Bayou papers but I was already doing a card for the class using those In Colours so had to find some other "friends" for GG to play with…I love Rose Red and it goes surprizingly well with a number of other colours in Stampin’ Up! collection.  Of course the fact that the inks and papers match make card making so much easier too!

Ink: Groovy Guava, Certainly Celery, Rose Red

Cardstock: Groovy Guava, Certainly Celery, Rose Red and Whisper White

Accessories: Groovy Guava Double Stiched ribbon, 2 way glue pen, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, glue dot

Copyright Stampin’ Up! 1990-2007

I love the way you can cut out the butterfly image and pop it up on top of the identical stamped image underneath.  I used a little glue dot to hold the butterfly in place – just fold the dot in half and adhere it to the butterfly’s thorax (body).   Doesn’t it look like it’s taking flight?

TIP: Another idea is to take a glue dot and place it anywhere on an image and apply your glitter to the dot – you will have a perfect circle of glitter which is nice for the center of a flower or even on one of the circles on the butterfly…ohhhh gotta try that now.  LOL

Happy Stamping!

Alison

Your card is beautiful, this is such a great set. Thanks for the tip about the glue dot, never would have thought of it, but it is a perfect circle.
