Hello Stampers,
On Tuesday night we had our annual Christmas/Holiday party with my downline – Canada Inks Up! We had so much fun – stamping, eating and drinking fancy hot drinks including Hot Chocolate and Latte’s. Yum!
We had a shoebox style swap – each person brought a completed card and all the materials needed to make it.
Then we took turns stamping each project until we had made them all – I was the organizer so didn’t get them all made but I loved the ones I managed to finish. What a great way to spend the evening.
Stamp Sets: Celebrate Everything, Sanded Background
Cardstock: River Rock, Ruby Red, Very Vanilla, Ginger Blossom Designer Series Paper
Ink: Groovy Guava, Very Vanilla Craft, Ruby Red
Other: Groovy Guava Double Stitched Ribbon, Earth Elements Brads, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack
I created the card above using products from the upcoming Spring/Summer Collection 2008 catalogue (another benefit of being a demonstrator – we get to order stuff ahead of time and at a discount – 40% off for me!) In the summer I received an awesome card from one of my downline, Melanie Leslie, and I just CASED that design using different colours, designer paper and stamps. This is how I was able to create my swap with only about 20 minutes to spare before I had to leave for the party! Thanks Melanie!
Here are some other cards I received in the swap…
Card by Sandi Lindsay – I love the way Sandi used glossy cardstock and daubers to apply ink – the little flower popped up on top is a cute touch to an adorable card!
Card by Dayanna Donng – I love the way Dayanna used the Shimmery White cardstock for the center image – the River Rock DP is such a subtle but effective touch along with the RR ribbon and cardstock.
By Linda – I love this card because Linda used Crystal Effects around the circle on the image and then applied Dazzling Diamonds Glitter which gave it a raised profile – so beautiful – the colour combo of Purely Pomegranate and Certainly Celery is stunning in person.
Card by Pam Lee – isn’t this a knock-out card? The Pixie Pink against the black just "pops" off the page. Pam introduced us to a really cool trick. She has us punch out the little dots in the center of the flower and then we punched out a scallop and placed it behind so it showed through the holes. It fits perfectly behind the flower….what a great tip!
That’s all I have time to share now….
Happy Stamping!
Alison
I’m sorry I missed out!
Looks like you all had a great time!
And made some beautiful cards.

I am so glad to have discovered your website! I love your samples and your archived material! Thank you so much for sharing your gift with others!
I have a question. What is the name of the stamp set used to create the beautiful snowflake card in shades of blue w/bling on the tips. I’d like to search on ebay to purchase! Thank you for the info.

Thanks so much for your kind comments – glad you found my blog. The set used on the card is called Snow Burst and was in the Holiday Collection 2007. Good Luck in finding one.
