Hello Stampers,
I’ve "bumped" this post up to today because I’ve decided to offer a CD Mini Album Class by Mail based on my design posted in January and again in April.
You will receive everything you need to make a keepsake album (where you can include a CD of pictures that match the theme of your album. You may choose either Baby Girl, Baby Boy or Wedding. You will receive all written instructions including colour photographs to take you step-by-step through the project. The project uses our wonderful Simply Scrappin’ kits.
The cost of the class is $30 plus $7 for mailing (traceable & insured) – the mailing cost will be waived if you pick up the kit at my home in New Westminster.
This was my original post from April, 2008.
Here’s a tutorial using the Tie the Knot Simply Scrappin’ Kit.
Start with the CD holder and 1/2 of the Tie the Knot kit which includes double sided designer papers and three sheets of self-adhesive die cuts.
Next make the accordian piece which is cut to 5" x 11" and then scored at 5" and every 1/2" up to and including 8". You end up with a 5" piece, the three accordians and a piece at the end of 3". Insert the 3" end into the left side of the CD case. Carefully pull apart the left flap and glue the 5" piece to the inside.
Use the flap as a template for covering the flap by tracing it onto the designer paper and cut out. Affix to the front of the flap.
Attach the ribbon with SNAIL to the front and back of the book – when you cut the ribbon at the loop you will have a perfectly centered ribbon for the tie.
For the piece that covers the left inside flap you can use the 3/4" circle punch to create a notch to match the flap layout. Position the circle punch 1/2 on and 1/2 off the piece of paper so that you are cutting a semi-circle.
Here’s what it looks like when it’s punched.
Here’s what it looks like matched up with the flap.
You then decorate some tags and, in this case, an envelope with the die cuts that come in the kit.
For the CD cases you can go to this website.
I’ll post the others from the class in my next post.
Happy Stamping,
Alison
