Stamp Crazy with Alison

Stamp Club

June 22, 2008 by Alison Solven

22 Jun

Hello Stampers,

We always have a good time at Stamp Club – this month I wanted to use some of the products from the Occasions Mini since it will be over at the end of June (boo hoo) and also the Fresh Cut stamp set and notes which is on special until the end of June.

I found some awesome ideas for teh Fresh Cut set and notes on Deann Oliver’s blog – the girl is amazing!  So I had to try out her 3D flower idea and here’s what I came up with and this was also one of the Stamp Club projects today.

First I carefully removed the die-cut flowers from the card and laid them down on a piece of scrap paper.  I inked up my brayer with Apricot Appeal and rolled over the petals to colour them – you wouldn’t believe how these look in real life.  Next I placed them back in behind the other die-cut piece (see Deann’s notes), then stamped the flower from the set in Pumpkin Pie, cut it out and layered it on top to cover the ends of the petals.  Next I trimmed off the ends of a Rhinestone Brad and stuck it on with a glue dot.

The large image on the inside of the card was stamped using the Apricot Appeal ink.

Finish off with “for you” in Pumpkin Pie and Apricot Grosgrain ribbon.

On this card I removed the petals again and then using Deann’s idea paper pierced all around the outside of the petals.  Next I brayered over the front of the card using Purely Pomegranate ink.  It actually looks like “suede” in real life.  Make sure you put a piece of scrap paper between the front and back of the card so the ink doesn’t come through to the inside of the card.  The large inside image is stamped using River Rock ink.

I punched out a flower using River Rock cardstock and the 5 Petal Punch which layers perfectly behind the other flower. Next stamp the flower image with River Rock, place on top and finish with a Rhinestone brad.  This time I could put the brad through all the layers because the back would be hidden with the 5 Petal punch flower.

Finished off with Kraft Taffeta Ribbon.

Lastly, same idea as the first card – I used Soft Sky & Blue Bayou ink and Bashful Blue gros grain ribbon to finish it off.  These are kinda addicting.

Thanks to Deann for the great ideas and thanks for looking today.

Happy Stamping!

Alison
