Stamp Crazy with Alison

Stationery Box

June 13, 2008 by Alison Solven

13 Jun

Hello Stampers,

I'm always in awe of crafters who come up with brilliant, over the top, ideas.  Sometimes they purchase an already made item from a store, take it apart and use it as a template.  I'm not sure if that's what the extraordinary Jackie Topa did with this stationery box but this is just an awesome project.  You can find the instructions on Jackie's blog.

Here's another take on the box by Dannie from California!

And now here's my version of Jackie's stationery set.  I didn't want to do the notebook so replaced it with post-it-notes and once I go to Staples for an RSVP pen (you can decorate the shaft of these pens by inserting designer paper) I'll add this to the bottom as per Jackie's instructions.

I love the Afternoon Tea designer papers (only 2 more weeks and then they are gone!) and the Live Your Dreams stamp set – also gone at the end of June.

100_6962-1 This is the box opened up – it includes four cards and envelopes, four note cards and envelopes and four gift tags.  All the items were stamped with the Live Your Dreams stamp set and decorated with Afternoon Tea designer papers.  I also embellished the items with taffeta ribbons.

Here are all the contents spread out in front of the open box.  Jackie's original design called for a note book which I've substituted for post-it-notes.  The little envelope to the left of the post-it-notes is for your stamps and I'll be adding a pen which will be added below these two items to finish off the gift set.

These pictures uploaded with a "fuzzy" edge which is so wierd but you can see them on my splitcoast gallery for a sharper view.

I'll be offering this as a sit-down class in my studio in New Westminster on Sunday, June 29th at 1:30 pm – you will make everything you see here for $30. As I'll be using the entire package of designer paper the actual design may differ from this picture.   I'm also offering it as a class by mail – check it out in my Stamp by Mail offerings.

Class by Mail – $40 – includes shipping
