Sock Monkey

August 24, 2008 by Alison Solven

24 Aug

Hello Stampers,

Okay..you either love them or hate them (or fear them)…I'm talkin' about Sock Monkeys.  I fall into the "fear" them category.  I don't know – for me they are like clowns which is something I also fear (probably residual fear from reading Stephen King's book "It").  In any event I'm trying to embrace my inner monkey.

Here are some fabulous swaps using the set…

100_7623-1

The heart is popped up using dimensionals and I love his little bow tie.  The "feet" and "hands" are cut out and glued on top of the main image to give a little dimension – so is the face.

The edge is made using the Scallop Edge Punch.

This card is by Becky Sutton of Yakima, WA.

100_7624-1

This is adorable – the banana is coloured and cut out and popped up.

Designer paper is Bella Rose.

Card designed by Mo Dickie of Toronto, Ontario.

100_7631-1

This card is adorable – it's by Hope Heusdens of Castro Valley, CA.

100_7629-1

Last card is by Sami Flanagan from ??

This is a bad picture because the card is so fresh and clean in person – I love the double row of paper piercing and the heart is cut out of designer paper (Bella Rose) and placed on top of the one underneath.  Sami used the Masking technique for her card.

This is why we love going to Stampin' Up! events – you meet such awesome people and you bring home such wonderful cards to share with customers.

So…is the jury still out….do you or don't you LOVE Sock Monkeys?

Happy Stamping,

Alison
