Stamp Crazy with Alison

Let it Snow….

November 26, 2008 by Alison Solven

Hello Stampers,

I had my Big Shot Club meeting on Monday night and I had so much fun with the Snowflake #2 die (large one) and the Snowflake Sizzlet dies (4 small ones).

My friend, Kristina Koch, sent me a beautiful card using the snowflake and craft inks from the Rich Regal family.  I don't own the craft inks in those shades so I used her card as a launching pad and add my own twist to it.  I die cut 2 large snowflakes – one from glossy card stock and the other from Brushed Silver.  I used a dauber to add some Silver Encore ink randomly to the Glossy snowflake.  Then I added some Irridescent Ice EP and heat set it.

Next I added a small snowflake cut from the Shimmery White cardstock.  All three snowflakes were layered on top of each other, just slightly offset.  They are all held together with a rhinestone brad.

I made the card into a "spiral card" using the smaller die cut snowflakes and the word "Peace" from the Join in the Cheer" die cut.  Very fun!

This was the second card from the Club – a total CASE from a card my sister gave me – I added a strip of Brushed Silver punched with the Scallop Edge punch under the flap.  The "Joy" is from the Stampin' Up! exclusive die "Join in the Cheer".  I love this die because you can use all the words or cut them apart and use them separately – words include Peace, Joy, Love and Cheer.

The last project was making snowflake window decals with the raw vinyl material you can buy through Stampin' Up! – it's so easy and very cool.  The raw materials cost $15.50 for two sheets 12 x 24 in White, Kraft, Chocolate and Dark Gray.  I'll post a tutorial soon on how to make them and a picture of my decorated windows!

All these projects were FREE because my club members purchased the Big Shot die cut machine from me.  I offered four classes showing them different ways to use the Die Cut machine and dies. It's been a lot of fun for me and has got me totally addicted to my Big Shot.  If you'd like to join my next group starting in January please email me for details – where else can you get FREE lessons on using your product?!  Why not put the Big Shot on your Christmas Wish List – just have your family contact me to order – if the order is $200 or more you also get hostess benefits!

Happy Stamping,

Alison
