Christmas Greetings – Coming and Going

December 17, 2008 by Alison Solven

17 Dec

Hello Stampers,

I'm sure you've all be busy getting ready for the holiday season.  I created and mailed over 70 Christmas Cards this year and I've received some absolutely stunning cards from friends, family and customers!  I just love receiving cards in the mail and when they are handmade they are even more special to receive.

I've received so many so will focus on a few each day…

Elainecard

This first card is by my dear friend, Elaine Paget, a fabulous and talented SU! demonstrator and one of my first downline members!

This card is so beautiful I don't know where to start.  It's layered and each one has it's own elements.  Elaine is most proud of the little skaters on their very own skating "rink" as they remind her of her in-laws who she describes as beautiful skaters.

The trees have shimmery glitter on them and this really looks like a winter wonderland.  '

Andreasanders

This card is so adorable in "person" – I've got one of those fancy photo tents on order so hopefully my pictures will improve on my blog so you can see the details on my cards soon!

Andrea Sanders, one of my many talented customers, sent me this Loads of Love card.  The little pine sprigs are from a punch in Martha Stewarts line I believe and they look so real.  Andrea is "famous" for her cutout cards – I'm always teasing her about the amount of cutting she does each year on her cards (one year it was Santa and all his reindeer cut out and popped up to streak across the card).  I'm always so honoured to receive one of this spectacular pieces of art.  She's added snow, popped up the car and created a "trailer" with the back end of the car.  I love this card!!

Jillmcnab2

Another talented and fun customer, Jill McNab, created this stunning poinsettia card.  Jill has stamped and embossed the flower on vellum, coloured from behind and cut out the petals to create the illusion of a 3D flower.  Just gorgeous!  She signed her card "Hooked on Stampin'" – so cute!

More tomorrow….there are so many to show you – I hope you check back each day for more inspiration!

Cheers,

Alison
