WOW – what a wild month we've had in Vancouver. The Olympics were an unbelieveable once in a lifetime experience for everyone living here and across the entire country. We were so proud to have earned the most Gold Medals EVER in a Winter Olympics by any country before us. What an accomplishment for a country of 30 million!
Now for THE hockey game – I'm talking about the Gold Medal game last Sunday. It was such a roller coaster of emotions – we were up 2-0 and then the US tied the game in the last minute of play. Off we went to overtime. I phoned my friend Sue who told me not to worry – we were an experienced team and we'd pull it out of the bag. I wasn't so sure. The US goalie Miller was amazing throughout the tournament so I wasn't sure if we'd ever crack him.
When Sid the Kid (Sidney Crosby) scored the winning goal in overtime I think the entire country of Canada exploded! Apparently 85% of all Canadians watched part or all of the game. I know other countries get mad at us for saying this but it's true – HOCKEY is OUR game.
Here's a cute video about the Hockey Tournament.
PS – Our Women's Hockey Team won the Gold Medal for the third straight Olympics too – now our sledghockey team will take the Gold in the Paralympics for a Trifector!
