Stamp Crazy with Alison

Technique Junkie Class

May 19, 2010 by Alison Solven

19 May

Hello Stampers,

I taught three classes at the Stamp Out Breast Cancer event this past weekend including one using the Distressed Copper technique.  I learned this technique years ago from Mary Ann Tremblay at an all day Stamp Camp we offered and I was reintroduced to it by my friend Lisa Yang a few months ago.  Lisa gave me permission to go forth and share her version with my customers (thanks Lisa!)

Allaflutter2 I'll be teaching this technique again at an upcoming class.

The class will consist of 4 technique cards:

Distressed Copper
Blind Embossing – Vellum
Brayer
Watercolour WOW flowers

Date: Saturday, June 12th
Time: 10:30 am
Cost: $25 – all supplies provided
Place: My Studio – New Westminster

Here's a picture of the Blind Embossing and a collage picture of the other three techniques.

Allaflutter1 Techniquejunkie_sobcThe cards for the rose and brayer will be slightly different but the technique is the same.

So what have been up to since I got back from the cruise and why haven't I been blogging??

I've been away from blogging for a few weeks because I participated in two fundraisers and both kept me hopping…

The first one was last weekend and the proceeds benefited Monarch Place which is a shelter for battered women.  The event raised over $400 and I was very proud to take part.

This past weekend I presented classes and had a booth at the 2nd annual Stamp Out Breast Cancer event at Granville Island.  Rhea from I'm Impressed does such a wonderful job, along with her staff and volunteers, organizing this very fun and classy event and it was my pleasure to join them for the 2nd year.  All proceeds go to the Canadian Breast Cancer  Foundation – such a great cause!

It was great to see so many of my customers and friends at the event and to make new friends too.

Happy Stamping!

Alison
