Stamp Crazy with Alison

Design Service – Christmas Cards

September 16, 2010 by Alison Solven

16 Sep

Hello Stampers,

I spend the afternoon on Monday with two new customers - Alison & Becci – who wanted some assistance with designing their Christmas cards this year.  Alison sends out over 150 and Becci makes about 50.  They have very different styles – Alison likes vintage and Becci likes whimsical so it wasn't "One Size Fits All".

We started off with cards I had made and samples from my stash and slowly turned them into their final cards.  It was a lot of fun!

It got me to thinking that sometimes my customers have a hard time coming up with a design - something that can be reproduced easily many times over.  I've decided to offer a Christmas Card Design Service to help you with this task.

Design Consulting Service

Appointments will be 1 1/2 hours

We'll go over your likes and colour schemes and come up with a design for your card.

If you purchase the materials to make the cards I'll waive the design/consultation fee of $25(minimum order of $100 before shipping/taxes).

You'll receive a list of materials used, a finished sample card and a cutting guide to recreate your cards.

Here's the card we came up with for Alison (no last names here in case you are on her Christmas card list).

DSC02220-1 We used the Winter Post stamp set (I love this one!) and made a pocket for the "Post Card"

DSC02221-1 Alison includes a picture and Christmas letter to her family and friends so we thought that the picture could go on the back of the Post Card and the letter could be tucked in the pocket.

We wanted to use the Chantilly lace ribbon but when you are making 160 cards it's just a little too costly so we went with hemp.  It ties (no pun intended) in with the Postal Theme (remember when we had to wrap string around our parcels to mail – my grandparents even used a wax seal for the knots!) and they were always wrapped in brown paper.  The button is from the Deck The Halls button package (48 in 3 colours!).  The colours are Red Riding Hood and Crumb Cake.

The cost per card for Alison (includes ALL supplies including the stamp set) is $1.50 (includes shipping AND taxes).

We have to do a little more consulting for Becci's card but she is going with Marina Mist and Pear Pizzaz colour scheme – nice and fresh and modern.

Contact me today to set up your own personal appointment.

Happy Stamping,

Alison
