Hello Stampers,
This is NOT stamping related so feel free to wait until the next post. My son purchased his own vehicle yesterday and it brought back memories of my first car (like 100 years ago!). Mine was a brand new Honda Civic – I think it was a 1980 but it might have been earlier.
Here's Ian with his Ford Ranger. The insurance was almost as much as the truck – yikes! But at least he doesn't have any payments for the car or the insurance (thanks to a summer labour job he gets every year) which is a good thing.
I thought this morning – "Wow, I actually have a car if I need to go anywhere (this would be MY car that he usually borrows)" Then I remembered that his truck is parked behind my car and he's still in bed. Good excuse for me to take his truck – LOL
Many of you have asked how my daughter Carly is getting along in Toronto. She just got an extension on her work contract until February (good for her, sad for us because we miss her) but she's coming home for Christmas – yeah! She's working at UbiSoft which is an international Gaming Company. We just saw her in Toronto for a family wedding which was great!
Last night as my son was playing some new war video game on his XBox and my husband was playing the same game on his computer and the house sounded like I was in a combat zone I was really missing my girl! We need more estrogen in the house right now!
Here is some of Carly's recent sketches – remember she's a gamer so her artwork reflects that community – LOL
She "draws" these and then does something magical by scanning and using software to colour and texture them…I have no clue how she does this but it's amazing.
A bit "lighter mood" one – I love the textures on these mushrooms. I "think" this was a sketch (traditional), coloured with Copics but not sure…
Thanks for letting me "chat" about my kids!
Happy Stamping,
Alison
My first car was a Honda Civic too but it was not brand new, old actually. My son’s first truck was the same as your sons but he’s already up graded it to a ford f150. Your daughter is very talented thanks for sharing. And just so you know I live with 3 men so sorry no sympathy there, lol
Have a great day!
Hi Lusa
You win! Unless I can count the dog and then we are even. LOL
