Stamp Crazy with Alison

Centerpiece for Christmas

December 20, 2011 by Alison Solven

20 Dec

Hello Stampers,

Each month, every demonstrator receives a copy of our magazine Stampin' Success. It's another benefit of being a demonstrator and it's full of awesome ideas.

DSC_0047-1In the December issue, my friend Liane Binder saw the Art Project for the month and just knew she had to make it herself. She got me all excited about making it too so we set to it over the past few weeks. Liane made most of the flowers this time (we had a similar flower making bonanza in the summer) and she did an amazing job. Yesterday we got together to put the final touches on the project and we actually squealed when it was finished. My husband even said "now that's a WOW!"

I have to say that the picture does not do this project justice.  We sprayed the flowers with Shimmer Paint mixed with Rubbing Alcohol so they sparkle – it's really gorgeous!

The flowers are made using two of the big shot dies – Island Floral and Flower, Daisies #2 – it's amazing how real the flowers look and they are just made out of paper!

I will organize a class for making the flowers in the new year so if you want to create a masterpiece like this for next Christmas, a wedding, baby shower or any special occasion you'll be able to do so by changing up the colours.  Sign up for my newsletter to hear about this class and other events planned for 2012!

Happy Stamping! Alison

    Hi Alison:
This centerpiece of florals looks great. I love making flowers so I think I should try one of these projects also. Way to go….
