Stamp Crazy with Alison

It takes a Village….

Hello Stampers,

Here's the gift I made for my downline heading to Convention.  They are little swatch books and I made them using My Digital Studio.  Remember you can download this program for FREE for a 30 day trial.

This is the cover – it's a little swatch book and I'll send them some finished pages after Convention.

Here's one of the pages – each class has a separate page to write down the top 3 tips they learned and will use in their business once they get home.

Hope they like them.

Well I'm just about to head out to Convention where I'll have limited internet access.  It gets a bit expensive as Canadians to buy plans to use the US but this year I decided to get a US phone/SIM card so I could text (it's hard to find people at Convention sometimes) and phone.  Sounds so easy doesn't it?  Well…not so much.  To make a long story short I ended up with a SIM card that my son has put in his unlocked Blackberry so I can us it in the US.  Nice boy..but that's another story.

Which all leads me to the title of the post…It Takes a Village.  When Hillary Clinton wrote her book of the same title she meant it takes community to raise, nurture and inspire children.  In my case it literally means it takes several people, several hours to show me how to work a Blackberry.  Hopefully I've got it down – I have 2 pages of notes to refer to so I can successfully turn it on, turn it off, text and phone.  We'll see.  I could put these notes on the Blackberry to refer to but then I'd have to find the notes which is unlikely.

This got me thinking about my upcoming Birthday and whether I'm just old.  Here are some Pros and Cons I came up with about turning older (not old, just older).

PRO – the hair on my legs doesn't seem to grow as fast so I don't need to shave as much

CON – unfortunately the hair that doesn't grow on my legs is now growing on my chin and quickly taking over my neck too

PRO – even though I need reading glasses now the words do just leap off the page which is nice – probably could have used them a year ago

CON – I can never find my reading glasses which is why I made the font size on this post larger in case any of you have the same issue

PRO – I have the resources to hire a gardener to do my weeding

CON – the reason I need the gardener is because I found muscles that I didn't know (apparently either did my body) I had (or never had?) and they hurt…alot

PRO – My kids are independant and they are nice people.  I don't have to worry about feeding them dinner, helping them with homework, driving them to and fro, loaning them money

CON – I miss feeding them dinner, helping them with homework and driving them to and fro.  I do, however, still seem to need to loan them money (hmmm)

So in closing if you are looking for me this week try emailing me.  If I can figure out Ian's phone I might just be able to write back.  If not – see you on Sunday – cyberly that is!

Have a great week!

Happy Stamping

Alison
