Do It Yourself Cell Phone Case!

September 21, 2013 by Alison Solven

Hello Stampers,

My-project-11-001

The concept artists at Stampin' Up! have amazing projects and this one is awesome!  You can decorate your cell phone case – switch it up as many times as you'd like – the possibilities are endless!

Phone-case-gettingstartedHere's what you need to get started:

Start with some inexpensive cases at (I found some at London Drugs for $8 and you could also try Walmart).

For the Inspire/Create/Share
case, recolour the digital stamp from MDS’s
Hooray
For Today Stamp Brush Set
and print it on Whisper
White Cardstock
; for the black and white case, use the Modern
Medley Designer Series Paper
; and for the last case embellish by combining
a picture and MDS’s “Family is everything” digital stamp from the
Hooray for Today Stamp Brush Set.  Then print it on Whisper White Cardstock.

Next steps…

Diy_phone_suppliesTrace around the
case with a pencil. (Since the case is see-through, you will be able to see to center
it and trace.) If you can’t find a see-through case, just measure your case and
draw the lines on the paper with a ruler. Then lay the case down and trace
around the corners to get the exact measurement of the corners and the camera
lens hole.

After you cut your
paper to the exact size of your case, use a paint brush to completely cover the
top of the case with Multipurpose
Liquid Glue
. Adhere the paper to the case and let it dry; then, using a
paint brush, completely cover the case with Crystal
Effects
to make it water-resistant and more durable.
Let it dry. You now have your very own custom case!

I'm going to try this – how about you?

Happy Stamping,

Alison
