Alison here for our weekly Border Buddy post! I love the stamp set Wetlands – in fact, when I first saw it in the catalogue I knew it would be the first one I would purchase. I love the little water fowl birds but it was the Canada Goose that won me over. Just for the record they are Canada Geese, not Canadian geese LOL although they don't seem to know there is a border at all since they fly right over to the US all the time!
It also reminds me of my "Border Buddy" Patsy because she lives on a lake in Minnesota and she must see geese all the time – if you see one of these Patsy, please send them home!
This is a really simple card to make. I used the Pool Party cardstock and ink along with the Baked Brown Sugar cardstock and ink. When I mounted the stamped piece onto a small mat (just a 1/8" mat) you can create a simple spotlight of the birds. Pop them up with Stampin' Dimensionals to complete the look.
Here are some other examples of cards I made using this adorable set:
And finally, here is a really cool (and SO simple) technique you can use with the set – it uses an acrylic block along with some markers to create a neat background. Then you just stamp an image on top (I always use StazOn ink) and you are done! If you want to see how it's done just watch my video! Have fun with it!
To order from the US please visit my friend Patsy's Blog! And as a BONUS today I noticed Patsy's has a fabulous video using this set and another fun technique called Masking Tape. WOW this is a really awesome Border Buddy share this week.
