Hello Stampers,
It's time for Border Buddy Saturday – Alison Here! Patsy is enjoying time in Houston with other Leaders from Stampin' Up! at our annual Leadership Conference. Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend this year but I've been hearing about lots of amazing things coming our way so we look forward to sharing those new products and ideas with you as they are released!
I'm so in love with the new products in the Occasions Catalogue and wanted to share some beautiful cards I've received from friends over the past week.
When you see the term "CASE" it means to Copy and Share Everything! I believe when you see something you love on Facebook, Pinterest, Splitcoast Stampers and other social sites it's a invitation to CASE it for yourself. Just like a recipe in cooking I'm not entirely convinced there is anything that is truly "original" in the stamping world so I feel that if it's in the public domain it's free to use! When you get get comfortable copying other designs take it to the next step and use their colours or layout to create your own "original" – today's post shows you how to do that!
I received the card on the left from my friend Melva Peters and the card on the right from my friend Jenn Tinline. Loved them both! So I took the stamps from Melva's card (and a variation on the colour pallette) and used Jenn's sketch layout to create the card in the middle.
Stamps: Blessed Easter (NEW #133212), Springtime Hello (NEW #133415(c) 133412 (w))
Cardstock: Summer Starfruit (#126839), Crisp Cantaloupe (#130021), Watercolour Paper (#122959), Sweet Sorbet Designer Paper (Sale-a-bration reward #133521)
Inks: Pear Pizzaz, Summer Starfruit (#126991), Crisp Cantaloupe (#131176), Staz On Black (#101406)
Other: Starburst Framelit Dies (NEW #132967), Aqua Painters (#103954), Summer Starfruit 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon (#126846), Crisp Cantaloupe 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim (#130021)
This is the image from the Blessed Easter stamp set. I wanted to be able to use it for more occasions easily so I carefully cut away the words from the flowers before adding the labels. That way I can use the saying with other stamps too!
This comes as a wood mount only stamp but I don't use wood stamps much anymore so I just affix the label to the back of the rubber and use it like other clear mount stamps! Plus I have the neat little case to store other stuff like daubers and refills – WIN WIN!
I hope you'll look at other cards and find the sketch and colour combos as inspriration to use your own stamps. You end up creating your own personalized masterpiece!
