Hello Stampers,
I LOVE Thanksgiving – such a beautiful time of year and that also means Turkey! Turkey is my most favourite meal.
In Canada we celebrate the 2nd Monday in October, about 6 weeks before our American friends. I've been asked by some of my US buddies the difference between our Thanksgiving and theirs and this is a great article that explains it really well!
In a nutshell here are the main differences:
- We celebrate our Thanksgiving in October, you celebrate in November
- We are celebrating the harvest, you are too but you also relate it to the sharing of food with pilgrims and native americans from the first Thanksgiving
- We don't have a big shopping connection like Black Friday with our celebration.
- We tend not to travel home from across the country for our Thanksgiving the way American families do.
WE ALL love to get together and share a wonderful meal with our families and friends and give thanks for all we have. So that's the most important thing for all of us!
And I wanted to share a gorgeous phone I found online celebrating the changing colours of the season. This makes me smile.
