Border Buddy Sketch – BB006 Paper Toile Technique

February 17, 2016 by Alison Solven

17 Feb

Hello Stampers,

It's Border Buddy Sketch Day today and it's Alison here this month.

On the third Wednesday of each month, Patsy and I post a sketch with some samples and invite you to join along and make your own card using our sketch.  We'd love to have you share your creations on our facebook pages.

How to play:

  • Stamp a card using this months Sketch
  • Use only Stampin' Up! Products (can be current or retired)
  • Snap a picture and post it to our facebook pages (doesn't have to be picture perfect!) It's important to post your picture under the Border Buddy post so we can easily find it! Just click on the comments and the little camera icon and add your picture.
  • You can submit as many samples as you wish – Please use BB006 for your card

Here's Patsy's card using the Vivid Vases Stamp set.

I love the way Patsy used the vases at the bottom of the sketch! So pretty and effective.

Here's the card  I made using the sketch this month.

I used the Paper Toile technique which is achieved by stamping multiple images and cutting them out and popping them up on top of each other with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The trick is to make each layer smaller than the one underneath.  My last layer only had one flower popped up.  It's really difficult to see on this picture but I also coloured all the petals with the Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.

Now to a flash back video from 2013 where I show you how to do this technique.  I noticed that I had a few bloopers in this one but you'll get the idea!
