Border Buddies Saturday – Party with Cake

February 19, 2016 by Patsy Waggoner

19 Feb

Hello Stampers,

It's Border Buddies Saturday, Patsy Here.

Today is the BIG day we have been planning for a over a year, our daughter Danielle's wedding.  We will be celebrating with lots of cake and cupcakes!  We ordered the cupcakes and some sheet cakes but she wanted to make her own wedding cake.  Danielle is the creative one in the family and for those of you who haven't heard my story before – it was because of her I started stamping.

Her wedding is of course in Stampin' Up! colors; Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.  Thought I would share some pictures of the beginning of the cake.

Cake first layer
The first two layers of the cake are made from rice crispies (it isn't for eating just looks).  One of her best friends daughters was so disappointed they weren't going to get the rice crispy cake to eat at the wedding, TOO FUNNY!

Cake 2nd layer

Can't show you the top layer just yet, the wedding isn't until 3PM today so can't ruin the surprise.  The top layer is a "real" cake and they will cut and eat it at the reception.

No Celebration is right without cake and the Party with Cake stamp set (that comes in wood-mount or clear-mount) will be great for so many occasions!

You can make it a top fold card or if you prefer a side fold card you could then add this fun Hip Hip Hooray Pop Up inside made with the Party Pop-Up Thinlits Dies.

What occasions do you have coming up where you will be eating cake?
