Hello Stampers,

Today is the launch day for our brand new Blog Hop and I'm so excited to be part of this international group of amazing Stampin' Up! demonstrators!  Each month, on the third Tuesday, we will post a project using the featured colour palette.

Our March colours are Blackberry Bliss, Perfect Plum, Tip Top Taupe, Smoky Slate and Basic Gray and were inspired by this beautiful picture.  We can use all the colours or some of the colours as we wish.

I love this challenge because I would have combined some of these colours together but not others.  While it's not a requirement to use ALL the colours each month my project actually does and they work beautifully together!

My Project 46-001
I embossed the lilacs from the Helping Me Grow Photopolymer Stamp Set in black and watercoloured with Perfect Plum, Blackberry Bliss, Smoky Slate and Old Olive inks.  The stamped piece is matted on Basic Gray and mounted on the Smoky Slate piece and then on Blackberry Bliss card front.  I also stamped the lilacs in Smoky Slate ink on the Smoky Slate piece to create a tone-on-tone look.  I finished it off with some Tip Top Taupe Lace Ribbon which I wrapped around the Smoky Slate piece and adhered to the back.

When you watercolour it's nice to draw a light line of Smoky Slate or Soft Sky around the images before you start colouring.

I added some pearls to add some dimension.   I hope you enjoyed my project!
