Border Buddies Saturday Masking Technique

April 16, 2016 by Patsy Waggoner

16 Apr

Hello Stampers,
Border Buddies Saturday Patsy Here.
Today I want to share with you how to do some masking to create an image in front of another.

Happy Birthday Card, Guy Greetings stamp set #stampinup www.stampstodiefor.com
I am going to show you how create the look of the trees behind the Model T car as shown in this card.   The trees are from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set found in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog and the Guy Greetings stamp set from the Occasions Catalog.

Stamping Technique Masking Step 1a

First I stamped the car on the Whisper White cardstock.

Stamping Technique Masking Step 2a
Then I stamped the car on a Post-it Note™.

Stamping Technique Masking Step 3a
Then I cut the car out of the Post-it Note™.

Stamping Technique Masking Step 4a
Then I inked up the row of tress and stamped over the car and removed the Post-it Note™.  Then using sponge daubers I sponged Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Watermelon Wonder and Soft Sky to create the sunset.

Happy Birthday Card, Guy Greetings stamp set #stampinup www.stampstodiefor.com 2
I stamped the Happy Birthday greeting from the stamp set and then punched it out with the Washi Label Punch and added to the card front with a Dimensional. Don't you just love the way the Washi Label Punch creates a great tag.

Anytime you want a stamped image behind another you just stamp the front image first and follow the same steps above.  Have a great rest of the weekend.
