Hello Stampers,

This month our Blog Hop is bringing you the Floating Re-inker Watercolor technique. This is an easy and fun (and fast!) way to apply colour to your images.

20160426_101046

I started with the flower from the Birthday Blooms stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue and embossed it with White Emboss powder on Shimmery White cardstock.  It's best to use this cardstock because it has a coating the paper which holds up well to the water.

Spritz your entire embossed image with water.  Use re-inkers (I used Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron and Daffodil Delight) with your Aqua Painter.  Pick up some of the reinker and touch your brush to the wet paper.  The re-inker just spreads out over the water and pools in spots (which is perfect).  Continue until your image is coloured in with re-inkers.  Set aside to dry.

You will end up with parts that have pooled colour and lighter areas which is what you want in this technique.  Cut out the entire flower and leaves and set aside.

This is a pop up card on the inside.  When you open the card the piece tucked in the fold pops out to reveal the message.  I stamped the smaller bud from the Birthday Blooms Stamp set and embossed it with White.  Then spritzed it with water and coloured the same way as the large flower.

Here are the supplies I used in today's card.
