It's another Colour Your World Blog Hop with my Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world (literally!). Each month we pick a colour palette and create projects using as many of the colours we like. Here is this month's palette:
I love the softness of the Soft Sky, Smoky Slate and Peekaboo Peach paired with the bold Early Espresso. It was a fun palette to work with and I used every colour too!
We are in the grip of winter here in Vancouver (unlike my friends from down under on this hop) so I thought I would go for ice cream on my card to make it feel more like summer. I started by stamping the cone in Smoky Slate and then the ice cream scoops in Pool Party and Peekaboo Peach and finally some chocolate sauce on the top in Early Espresso. The sprinkles are embossed in white and heat set.
I cut the word "sweet" from the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits twice – once in Early Espresso and once in Peekaboo Peach and then layered them to give depth. I used the masking technique for my ice cream. I started with the Peekaboo Peach scoop and then masked it so when I stamped the Pool Party scoop it would appear to be under the top one. The cone is actually two stamps – the base which is solid is inked in Smoky Slate and stamped off once before stamping on the Whisper White. Then the criss cross pattern is inked in Smoky Slate and stamped full strength on top.
The greeting is also stamped in White Embossing Powder and heat set.
