Stamp Crazy with Alison

Just in Case – Birthday Wit

February 8, 2018 by Alison Solven

8 Feb

Today is Just in Case Thursday – the day Patsy Waggoner and I share a card inspired by a project from one of our current catalogues.  Sometimes we CASE it exactly (Copy and Share Everything) and sometimes we change out colours, stamps and embellishments.

Today I've CASED the card from the Occasions catalogue exactly using the Birthday Wit stamp set.

The card is advertised in the catalogue as "Quick and Easy" and that is an understatement when it came to making the card today.  But just because it's quick…and easy….doesn't mean it's not fabulous.  You could stamp tons of these at one time and use different colour combinations.  They'd be great to have on had for a card you need in a hurry.

I took the basic card and added some more elements.  This is what is great about CASing.  You can start with coping a card and then tweak it to make it something new.  I love Lemon Lime and Bermuda Bay together so worked with the colours in the original card.

I ran the Lemon Lime Twist card base through the Big Shot with the Scattered Sequins Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  They really look like sequins! The Bermuda Bay layer was embossed with the Simply Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and added to the card base on an angle.

The stamped piece is CASED exactly from the catalogue.  I stamped the saying twice, once on the card layer and once on a scrap. I cut out the image and popped it up on the stamped one with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The instructions for the cards today will be included in my newsletter on Sunday. Are you subscribed? Click here to join!

Alison, thank you for sharing your “stepped up” version of the Birthday Wit stamp set. I
love your version much more than the original from the catalog. I believe that I will have to “case” your card.

I agree with Barb. The multi layering of the colors is great and love the two colors that you paired together.

I had no Internet on the day this was posted, I’m glad I went back to check what I missed. This is really nice Alison. I love the multi layered look, I’ll have to give it a go!
    Thanks for sharing your version.
