It's Sunday Sketches, Patsy Waggoner from the US here today.
Each Sunday Alison Solven (my border buddy) and I take turns creating a card using one of our card sketches. Sketches can help to get your creativity fired up. They are open to interpretation, no real right or wrong way.
I thought how fun to do our sketch card today with the Penguin Place Bundle, giving those of you who earn our Free Border Buddy Tutorial this month, one more idea for this great set. Who can resist these faces?
The cardbase is Poppy Parade with a piece of the Pattern Party Host polka dot paper for my background. The penguins are stamped in Tuxedo Black Ink. The hat, scarf and bow tie in Poppy Parade Classic Ink. The beaks and feet in Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink and the antlers in Early Espresso. I embossed the "Merry Christmas" from the Snowman Season Stamp Set in Basic White. Embellished around the greeting with the Opal Pearls.
The penguin and penguin feet can be punched out using the Penguin Builder Punch. I did fussy cut the hat and antlers with the paper snips. The snips make it so easy to cut intricate details as the precision-ground stainless steel tips cut cleanly all the way to the end of the blades.
You can create a card exactly using the sketch layout or change it up a bit. You can also turn the sketch so if it is a vertical sketch you might want to turn it to be horizontal. Let your imagination run wild! I replaced the circles on the card template with the penguins.
Today’s Stampin’ Up! color palette is Poppy Parade, Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie.
All Stampin’ Up!® products were used to create today's card.
