Stamp Crazy with Alison

Loads of Love

November 22, 2006 by Alison Solven

Hello Stampers,

My customer, Rachel, asked me to prepare a class based on the stamp set "Loads of Love".  I hadn’t used this set in a while so it was fun to come up with some cards for the class.  Each partipant had the opportunity to purchase the stamp set ahead of time (so they could use it at the class) and get a class for FREE.  If they choose not to purchase the set they paid a fee to make the cards.

My first card is called a "flip flop" card because you can flip from the front to the back..it’s a very cool fancy folds card.

100_3547 100_3548 I stamped the background using the Flannel Plaid Background Stamp – my friend Eleonor got me hooked on not leaving the card base "plain".  I think this image really lends itself to the "rustic" look of the plaid.  I coloured in the images using our markers.  One tip about this set is in mounting the saying.  I chose to divide the "Merry Christmas" from the rest of the saying and mounted it on the end of the block of wood.  The remainder of the saying "Wishing you Loads of Holiday Cheer!" is on the main part of the wood.  That way I can use either saying separately or together.

100_3550_1 This image was stamped on our Sahara Sand cardstock – I LOVE this colour of paper and it worked well with the Cranberry Crisp and True Thyme.  The ribbon is the Cranberry Crisp Stitched Gros Grain that’s only available until November 30th in the Holiday Mini Catalogue.  Love those Oval Punches too!

This 3rd card used both the Ticket Corner punch and the Small & Large Oval.  The word is from 100_3552 Perfect Endings which is another item only available until November 30th – all 4 words – Joy, Peace, Merry and Jingle – fit in the small oval punch.  The background is the Canvas Background Stamp.

The last card uses the Rough Texture Jumbo Wheel on the Brocade Blue strip of cardstock.  The background is Certainly Celery and I used Rose Red for the layering.  I love the new Ribbon Originals and used a piece from the Sweet Shop assortment with the coloured brads to finish it off.

If you and your friends would like a customized class based on any stamp set from the Idea Book & Catalogue let me know and I can get it going for you.

Happy Stamping!

Alison

I love this stamp set so I was determened to find something that I could do with this stamp this year for my Xmas cards. Thanks a bunch! By the way would you mind posting measurements for the Merry loads of love card? I’m new and trying to eyeball this it all comes out way to huge or to small. Thanks for your help!
