Hello Stampers,
This past Sunday was the first day of the soccer season for my son – I love soccer, indoor, outdoor – anywhere anytime. However…Sunday was also the first day of plummeting temperatures and pouring rain. Ah…rain and soccer – can’t have one without the other. My son is playing outdoors which has one game and 2 practises per week, on the school team which has 2 practises and probably 2 games per week, indoor on an adult co-ed team with one game each week and then he does peer tutoring with a group of Grade 9 students every morning who play…you guessed it SOCCER. Even he said "maybe there is such a thing as too much soccer!" – never thought I’d hear him utter those words. Oh yea…he also reffed a soccer game on Saturday.
I love the Season of Joy set from the new Holiday Mini Catalogue and received some wonderful swaps and made some cards using this set. Here’s a few of my favourites….
I love the swirly image from this set because it can be used with other sets throughout the year – this baroque, bohemian look is very "in" right now. I stamped the tree by inking up the tree with markers so I could colour the tree green and the star yellow. I then stamped the tree again on a scrap paper and cut it out and popped it up over the original image. It adds just a little dimension as does the brads I added to the center of the starts.
This is a beautiful card made by my friend Liane Binder. I love the use of Chocolate Chip and Soft Sky. The new taffeta ribbon is very elegant and finishes off this card beautifully.
Here’s another card from Liane that she stamped and embossed in black. She then brayered over the whole image using the Blue Frost Spectrum pad.
Lastly another card by ….guess who…Liane Binder.
This is a stunning card with the gold embossed cut out flower (Liane LOVES loves LOVES to cut out stuff – more power to her) popped up for a focal point.
I hope you love this Season of Joy stamp set as much as I do.
Happy stamping!
Alison
