Stamp Crazy with Alison

Gobble gobble..

Hello Stampers,

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian family and friends.  We are having our turkey tonight and I can’t wait.  Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what we have to be grateful for in our lives and for living in a country like Canada.  I’m always grateful that my family has had another healthy year.  I’m grateful for small things like my roof didn’t leak this past winter and that no trees landed on my house during the 10 plus major storms we went through last year.  I’m not so grateful that we had hardly any sun or warm weather this summer but we had a banner year of grapes!  My husband just made over 30 jars of grape jelly under the direction of his mom.  Yum!  I’m also very grateful for Stampin’ Up! because I’ve met some wonderful people doing the busines and sharing the love of stamping!

One of my downline, Lisa Fedorak, shared a little poem her daughters learned at school (Lisa is mom to 5 year old triplets!).  It goes something like this…gobble, gobble, yum, yum, wobble, wobble and that’s about it for me.  I won’t get on the scale tomorrow.

I’m sure many of you have seen this little tip that Stampin’ Up! shared with demonstrators at the Hamilton, Ontario Regional in September.  It’s another awesome way to use your Round Tab punch.  Who thinks of these things I want to know??

100_61541 Punch one tab punch from your piece of cardstock and then rotate the punch 1/4 turn lining up the edges to the negative image left by the first punch.  100_61571 Punch again and you will get a circle shape that can be used as a little window on a card!

100_61591 Here’s the finished circle compared with the negative of the Round Tab Punch.  Not finished yet…

100_61601

Layer two punched round tabs on top of each other with one laying right to left and one top to bottom.  You’ve formed a perfect circle from the two shapes.  It’s the perfect layer for our Scallop Punch image.

100_61621 The lighter green got lost in the shot but the white circle is made with the matting of the Round Tab punch pieces with the Scallop laid on top – brilliant!

Happy Stamping and Happy Thanksgiving!

Alison
