Good Morning,
I’ve received more beautiful cards from friends/customers over the past several days that I wanted to share with you all.
This first card is from Julie Chavigny and uses the set Simple Snowman and the Winter Bright Simply Scrappin’ kit. There is something about this card – I can’t figure out if it’s the embossed snowflakes or the subtle blue watercolouring around the snowman or the precise layering of the different colours or just the colour combinations but I just love this card! How about the extra touch of cutting out the little bird and popping him up with a dimensional.
I can’t believe I really never noticed this set before and it’s on the retired list and will be gone forever on December 31st. Check out the Simple Snowman set before it’s gone!
The second card is from my friend Leslie Good – This card is stunning in person – sometimes the scanning of a card loses something. On the tips of the snowflakes is a little "bling" – just enough to make it sparkle as it catches the light.
Here’s a simply elegant card (her trademark) from my friend Liane Binder. The colours get messed up with the camera but Liane has teamed up Baroque Motif with the recently retired Season of Joy stamp set from the Holiday Mini. I love the little touch of adding brads at the corners of the tree image which just adds that little extra. The colours are Always Artichoke and Very Vanilla.
This card is from my friend Bev Ennis and boy did the colours really go wonky in the transition from reality to my blog. Again it’s from the set Season of Joy and Bev used three little brads in the flowers. The colours are River Rock (base) and Purely Pomegranate along with River Rock double stitched ribbon.
Bev also included a wonderful story about her and her husband’s excitement about adopting a baby from China. They are getting ready by working on a project called the 100 Good Wishes Quilt and have asked family and friends to send a square of fabric that can be sewn into the quilt for their daughter. I’m going to send them a square in the new year – I’m so excited for Bev and Brent as I know they will make awesome parents to a lucky little girl.
Okay…this is soooo adorable. It’s the little aligator from Wild About You set and Leanne Douglas has added a little santa hat to his head. Who would have thought to use an aligator for Christmas but it works! Leanne also included the most adorable picture of her 6 month old little girl Kallie who will be celebrating her first Christmas!
Lastly here’s another card using the Season of Joy set which seems to be one of the most popular sets used for Christmas this year – I’m sure going to miss this set. I love how Jen Miller has used non-traditional colours for this card – it’s Bashful Blue and Ballet Blue.
I’m not sure if there really is "traditional" colours anymore – it used to be Red and Green (whatever happened to that saying "Red and Green should never be seen" meaning they should not be put together). Now anything goes – so unleash your creative self this season – homemade cards are so fun to receive.
More another day….
Happy Stamping,
Alison
