Hello Stampers,
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas filled with friends, family and food! For the first time in 17 years we had a WHITE Christmas which was a nice surprise. Just enough to leave a light dusting on the roads but not enough to make travelling difficult.
My family went to a movie on the weekend – National Treasure – and had a good time. The movie was entertaining and it was the only one we could all agree on – my daughter would have loved to see Sweeny Todd (she loves Tim Burton and Johnny Depp) and my son wanted to see I Am Legend (I’m thinking it’s a takeoff on the old (really old) movie called Omega Man with Charlton Heston – anyone else remember that movie? It freaked me out as a kid so I wasn’t keen on seeing it again with 21st century graphics. LOL So at the end of the movie my daughter asks "Was that really worth the $50 for the tickets?" This reminded me of the Mastercard commercial so I said…"4 tickets to National Treasure…$50; Popcorn, drinks and candy for 4….$20; going to the movie as a family at Christmas…priceless" And it was just that!
Here are some more wonderful Christmas cards that arrived just before the holiday…
This first one is by Elaine Paget – this is absolutely stunning in person.
It looks like a winter scene in 3D.
This card is by Debbie Tompkins and uses the soon to be retired hostess set called Sidekick Sayings. I love the way Debbie highlighted the word "Christmas" throughout the saying. The card is a Long Note size which is also a really nice change.
Here’s a card by my customer Barb Paul and is so beautiful in person – the gold embossing jumps off the vellum and is so elegant.
Lastly, here is a card by my sister, Mo Dickie. I love the different type of fold Mo used on this card. Mo also sent me a "care" package with some wonderful 3D ideas using some of the new sets from the upcoming catalogue. I just had to share this fabulous album she made using my absolute favourite new set – Embrace Life along with the Ginger Blossom Designer Series Paper. Gorgeous!
Happy Stamping!
