Stamp Crazy with Alison

Lookie what I got…

Hello Stampers,

I work part time at a local scrapbook store – Remember Me Scrapbooking in Coquitlam.  The owners are the nicest people and were the first Scrapbook store owners in Vancouver when they opened 11 years ago.  Many have come after them but I’m always hearing how wonderful Dianna is from my own customers and people I meet in the community.  If you live in Vancouver you should check the store out.  If you represent a company like Stampin’ Up! or something similar or if you are a Teacher bring proof with you to the store and you will receive a 15% discount!  Di is so generous and kind – even with so-called competitors – that’s why she is so highly thought of by her loyal customers.

100_66421_2 At Christmas, the owners Dianna and Mary, gave each of the employees a $50 gift certificate along with some other fabulous goodies and prezzies and a lovely dinner out with the staff.  I’ve been saving my gift certificate for that one special thing and I found it when I went to work on Thursday….a BIG BITE Crop-a-dile.  Okay…do I need this – NO but it was a GIFT for pete’s sake so I couldn’t pass it up.  Since we already receive a discount on our own purchases the $50 went even farther so I was able to buy a few other little goodies too.  So fun!

As much as I love "tools" I really love receiving cards from customers and friends and I received a whole bunch this week.

This card is from one of my many 100_66481_2 talented customers, Janice Spry, who used the set Boatloads of Love but filled the little skip with vellum Easter eggs – I’m not sure how she did the eggs but maybe she’ll leave a comment here and tell us her secret.  The ribbons across the top of the card are a fabulous idea and one I’d never thought of or seen before.  Janice punched holes (perfectly evenly by the  way) across the top of the card and then tied the springy coloured gros grain ribbon through each hole knotting them on the front.  This card really is Springlike and fresh and has me yearning for more Spring like weather.  Thanks Janice for this beautiful card!

100_66451 Here’s a card from my new recruit, Terilee Stokke, in Saskatchewan.  Is this adorable?  I love this set – Blooming with Love and the matching wheel Blooms & Bulbs –  just another one to add to my must have collection of stamps! Check out Terilee’s website and if you live in her area check out her classes and clubs.

Finally, here’s a beautiful card I received from one of my February hostesses thanking me 100_66461_2 for coming to do a workshop – wasn’t that sweet of her?  I love the way the word thanks is the same orientation as the strip of  designer paper and ribbon.  So pretty! Thanks Sandra F for the lovely card – she jokingly says she looks for occasions now to send out cards.  St. Patricks is coming Sandra. LOL

Happy Stamping,

Alison

Good choice for your gift certificate. This has some good use but I don’t think it will be one that I will choose soon. So many other little goodies I want first. Love the cards you got. And especially the
simplicity of Sandra’s card. It doesn’t take much to make a visual impact.

Ooh, Big-Bite envy. For some reason, it doesn’t look nearly as scary as the original. Weird.

    TTFN,
    Sonya
