Hello Stampers,
Last night we had our monthly Canada Inks Up! meeting – this is where my downline (the demonstrator who signed up with me or one of my demonstrators) get together to stamp, share and have fun!
We were thrilled to have Kelly Fridge demonstrate her awesome Canvas project – Kelly presented this as a WOW demonstration at the Stampin’ Up! Vancouver Regional conference back in the fall and we were so happy to have a private lesson at our meeting. Here is Kelly with her work of art. We’ve had to put off this demo for months because of weather and so now that the project has been completed it can now be displayed proudly in Kelly’s daughter’s room.
Thanks so much Kelly! Here’s another one of her masterpieces.
Another demo, Lisa Fedoruk, brought along her Canvas project for us to see. Isn’t it wonderful? The artwork shows Lisa’s family including her triplets!
This month we didn’t have a business meeting – instead we just stamped. Yeah! We had a wonderful shoebox swap with 20 participants. Since we only had 2 hours to stamp we premade 1/2 of the cards and stamped the rest. It was a lot of fun.
There were many wonderful cards but here are a few that I managed to finish.
The first one is by Sandi Lindsay and uses the stamp set Priceless along with the 5 Petal Punch. Very pretty. We thought that Sandi had used retired ribbon with the Chocolate Chip Satin ribbon but it is still availabe in the Ribbon Originals Theater set. Not one of use realized that it was still around so we better go back and study our catalogues again.
The next one is by Elaine Paget who drove down from Kamloops to join us. It uses the Bud Basics stamp set and matching wheel along with the Garden Whimsey stamp set. She finished it off with the Flower Fusion which remind me of the felt story boards we used to have as kids. So pretty!
We affectionately call Elaine our 3D Queen because of her great project ideas and she brought me this awesome Easter card. The little bird from A Good Egg is glittered up (Elaine is a firm believer that if in doubt add glitter) and slip behind the egg to close the card. When you open the card it’s a hidden message card. So clever and so cute…and sparkly.
This is a new stamp set in the catalogue – one I don’t have but love. This card uses the Seaside Stamp Set and was designed by Liane Binder. Love the colours in this card – Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, River Rock and the Western Sky designer paper. Such a fresh card. The saying is from All Holidays and the sentiment "My dear, kind and wonderful friend" describes Liane perfectly.
Lastly for tonight here is a card by Pam Lee using the Big on Spring stamp set from the Occasions Mini catalogue. Such a cute card and such an adorable set – it’s a picture and sentiment all rolled into one stamp.
My friend, Dayanna Donng, has just got her blog up and running – check it out at www.impressionsbyday.typepad.com
Happy Stamping,
Alison
