Sneak Peak…

Good Morning,

Last Thursday I received my Sneak Peak order from Stampin’ Up! What’s that you ask? Each catalogue year Stampin’ Up! gives demonstrators a glimpse into what is coming in the new catalogue – that’s exciting enough but this year they offered the stamp sets in the preview to us at 20% off the regular price! In addition we get our regular discount so it’s a fabulous savings for us and a great way for us to show new product to our customers. I ordered all the new In Colour papers and Ink Pads, 3 new stamp sets, some beautiful Designer Paper that will be part of SU!’s Shabby Chic collection and…drumroll….the new scallop edge punch.

Here’s the little beauty.  Love it!  It does take some getting used to but it’s actually easy to use once you get the hang of it.

Here’s a fabulous tutorial from a brilliant demo in the US (Mary Jo Albright) – how do these folks think of these things? 

Yesterday at my regular club meeting we used the scallop punch to make this adorable Bag in a Box – click on the link to take you to an awesome tutorial.  The original idea was from Diana Gibb.

 Speaking of my club – it was our last one for this session – what an awesome group of women.  What struck me about them is that they don’t all know each other (some do before club) but they grow to be so cohesive and supportive of each other.  They help each other with projects and praise each other’s accomplishments.  I’ve always been very lucky in finding such wonderful customers (men and women!).

I used the Ginger Blossom paper (love it but it will probably retire at the end of July as it does have one of the current In Colours).  I matched it with Coral and Ruby Red.  The little buttons have faux thread – just cut very thin strips of cardstock which is easy to do with our table top cutter.  I used the 3 flower punch under the buttons.

The second project from club uses the Summer by the Sea set – I just love all the pieces in this one.  This set is not retiring but will be going on the dormant list which means it can still be ordered after August 10th but it won’t be featured in the Fall-Winter Idea Book and Catalogue.

I coloured the image with Watercolour Wonder Crayons and an Aqua Painter.  You can’t see it in this scan but the sand castle and sand below the boy has actual SAND…I just use the 2 Way Glue Pen and then sprinkle the sand on top.

The definition is from the Define Your Life and the Dd is from Defining Alphabet – 2 of my favourite sets.  There is a “definition” for every occasion.  This is one of my Convention swap cards.

I used the Basic Outline Jumbo Wheel and matching Bud Basics stamp set for this card.  It’s a take off on two cards I saw – one on Kristina Werner’s blog and the other on Nancy Riley.  I combined the colours from one and the design of the other.

This card uses Purely Pomegranate, Soft Sky and Certainly Celery inks.  The “for you” is from All Holidays.
