Hello Stampers,
Truth be told I had a LOT of help from my friends, Sandi and Allison, with my Convention swaps. They were both back today (were here all day last Friday) cheerfully helping me with my hundreds of swaps. They work cheap too…just a little water and food and they are happy campers. Between the two of them they’ve made over 200 swaps! Today they even took some home (for our other friend Sue) as homework. Awesome women….
Here they are hard at work – Allison is working so fast her picture is just a blur – LOL.
So what did I do while they toiled away? I tried to come up with a card using one of my preview sets – Dreams du jour. I tried black and white, adding colour, adding punches and ripping and distressing and ended up with a pile of rejects.
Tonight I was surfing on some sites and eventually found my way to a new blog for me – Clean & Simple – which is so awesome. They have wonderful sketches and I found one that I used with my set. I’m finally happy with the outcome.
Here’s my version using Natasha’s sketch:
I used the Bella Rose DP along with the stamp set Fundamental Phrases (earned for FREE through a Sale-a-bration promotion for demonstrators).
Taking Sandi’s advice I added just a hint of colour to the flower with the Pink Pirouette ink. “With Joy” is stamped with the Kiwi Kiss ink. The sentiment is popped up with dimensionals.
Stampers really are the best people on earth and I’ve been so lucky to find such wonderful friends and downline through Stampin’ Up! – thanks again girls!
Happy Stamping,
Alison
Ooh, Alison, you temptress, you. I’m assuming from your post that Pink Pirouette and Kiwi Kiss are two of the new in-colours. Maybe? Very pretty card. Counting the days until the new catalogue.
Sonya.
How lucky you are to be able to stamp with your friends!! Wish I could come and help too! xoxo
