Stamp Crazy with Alison

Inspired by Nature

August 9, 2008 by Alison Solven

Hello Stampers,

100_7496-1 I really love this stamp set that we received at Convention called Inspired by Nature.  It's in the new catalogue and is so pretty and versatile.

I stamped the "grass" in veramark on the Pink Pirouette paper and then overstamped the flowers using Whisper White craft ink.  I have lots of these Cone Flowers Garden Photos 014 (Echinacea) in my own garden and they are a real workhorse type of perennial – try growing them in your own garden. I love how the flower "head" is all prickly and the actual petals droop down from the center – it's in the same family as Rudbeckia (Brown Eyed Susan) but a different Garden Photos 020-1 flower.  This lower picture shows them growing side by side.   Both are blooming in my garden now so that means fall is coming – yikes!

I stamped the flowers again on my little 3 x 3 card using Whisper White craft ink and then embossing them in White.  Next I took a dauber and added colour on the flowers (Pink Pirouette) and leaves (Kiwi Kiss).  The embossing "resists" the ink.  I punched the edge with our new scallop punch (I won't miss taking the guard off the corner rounder punch!) and added some colour along the side by using a strip of the Bella Rose Paper.

The bag has Bella Rose Paper and Rose Red grosgrain ribbon to finish it off.

To attach the card I punched a 1/4" circle in the top left corner and then used scissors to cut from the folded corner into the hole which creates a slit that can be slipped around the handle.

Happy Stamping!

Alison

Very soft looking. I really like how you stamped the little card and colored it. Thanks for sharing. Diana

Wow, great take on the convention’s make & take. I love your decorated bag. Nice soft colors and the added scalloped edge to the note is nice touch!
