I run a number of different options in my monthly clubs and each month I go to Ladner to meet with wonderful group of women who chose the "Technique Club". Each month I teach them four new techniques and they make a sample for their technique books. The book has all the instructions for the technique so they can go back and remind themselves of how to do it.
This month one of the techniques was Watercolour Crayons – this is the Direct to Rubber technique. You spritz your "rubber" (solid type image) with water and then colour directly on the image with your watercolour crayons. Spritz it again so it's wet but not dripping and stamp on watercolour paper. Then I let it dry and go back in with my Aqua Painter and add some finer details to give the image some definition.
Here's a card using the new Upsy Daisy set with this technique.
I used the Twill Background on the Almost Amethyst card stock. The colours are AA and Lovely Lilac. The saying fits perfectly in the Key Tab Punch. The ribbon is the Whisper White taffeta which can be dyed to match any colour. Just run the ribbon over your Classic stamp pad – hold the ribbon to the surface with a sponge or dauber and drag the ribbon over the pad.
Here's another card using the same technique with the Inspired by Nature stamp set.
Happy Stamping,
Alison
