Stamps in the Mail University – Carte Postale

August 31, 2008 by Alison Solven

31 Aug

Hello Stampers,

I offer different classes and options for my customers and one of the most popular choices has been my Stamps in the Mail  University program.

This "semester"  (I model it after correspondence school at home) the stamp set choices were Carte Postale or Simply Said.  Each month a package arrives with all the products they need to complete 4 cards.

100_7686-1 Here's Month 2 of Carte Postale.  The colours this month were Pink Pirouette and Kiwi Kiss.  Since they received Chocolate Chip last month I could also incorporate the colour again.

I used the Bella Rose DP on this card along with the new Scallop Edge Punch and added some definition with the paper piercing tool to create faux stitching.  The bird is supposed to look like it's flying through the card.  The main bird is cut out and popped up for dimension.

The second card is very simple but elegant.  I used the Pink Pirouette along with the Chocolate 100_7689-1 Chip.  I stamped the square image several times in both Chocolate Chip and Pink Pirouette, punched or cut the images out and layered them using pop dots.  It gives the simple card some dimension.

100_7687-1 The third card is a complete CASE from my friend Karen Bernoe's card that she sent me last week.  I LOVED this card so much I thought why not just substitute some of the images from Carte Postale – I also switched out the Old Olive for Kiwi Kiss in keeping with the month's colour theme.

Lastly I went back to the Pink Pirouette colours along 100_7688-1 with the Chocolate Chip to create this simple but elegant card.  The squares are punched out using the 1 1/4" square punch and applied to create a larger square image.  The image is stamped again in the coordinating colour and popped up as a focal point.  The ribbon is the new 5/8" grosgrain ribbon in Pink Pirouette.

Check out all the information about my Stamps in the Mail University program – new semester starts in October and one of the sets will be Christmas themed.

Happy Stamping and Scrapping!

Alison

Alison…all of those are beautiful. But the first one is the most gorgeous card I’ve ever seen.
