Stamp Crazy with Alison

World Card Making Day

October 10, 2008 by Alison Solven

10 Oct

Hello Stampers,

I'm sorry for the long delay in posting but I've been working hard at my Stampin' Up! business and numerous events have taken the majority of my time these past few weeks.  Here are some of the highlights:

World Card Making Day was October 4th and was lots of fun.  I offered a Bin' Stampin? class and had over 30 stampers/scrappers attend.  Each person could make up to 12 cards so you can imagine the amount of cutting and stuffing it took preparing over 400 cards!

As usual I forgot to take pictures during the day but here's the afternoon gang – all hard at work on their cards.

Here's one of the cards we made using the Mr. Twigster stamp set from the Holiday Mini - so cute.  You have to add glitter to snowmen.

I also like to use Bashful Blue on the edge of my snowmen for shading.

Masculine cards are always a challenge so here's a simple one using the Bronc Busters stamp set.

Each year Stampin' Up! donates $100,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities and designates one stamp set from the catalogue as the Ronald McDonald set.  This year it's a cute set called Say it with Scallops and I used it in this card along with Green Tea DP.  Each sale of this set contributes $2 to Ronald McDonald House charities.

I received this absolutely gorgeous card from my friend, Bev Ennis.  We made a similar card at my event.  It uses the Top Note Die for the Big Shot (a Stampin' Up! exclusive die) along with the Polished Stone technique.

This was the favourite of many of the attendees.

I'll have more posts later including pictures from my recent swap with my downline and other friends!

Happy Stamping,

Alison
