Stamp Crazy with Alison

Happy Valentine’s Day

February 14, 2009 by Alison Solven

14 Feb

Hello Stampers,

We spent the entire day at soccer – outdoor game and indoor game – fun but sometimes it's just too much soccer around here!

Carly.birds My daughter is in Art School and she drew this amazing picture for me for Valentine's Day -  love the ring flowers on the female bird's head.

Carly's first bird was a Budgie named Kiwi (a girl) and after she died at six years of age Carly got Zipper (a boy). I just realized that these two birds in her drawing represent Kiwi (green) and Zipper (blue).  Ahhh….so sweet!

100_8414-1 I also received a beautiful card in the mail from my customer and friend, Janice Spry.  So thoughtful!

I love the dry embossed lace effect and the popped up elements – so fresh – also love the non-traditional colours for the holidays!

I love getting cards in the mail – thanks Janice!!

My husband did give me a card – and he did buy glittery heart stickers and stuck them all over the card (inside and out) – this was his attempt at adding some homemade flair. LOL  The Purdy's caramels made up for the card! Yummy.

Hope you all had a nice day!

Happy Stamping!

Alison

    Hello,
Your daughters art work is fantastic. I also love the ring of flowers on ‘Kiwi’s ‘ head. How lovely of her to make this for you.
Glad to hear your hubby tried hard too! LOL

Well, you know you have to frame this one. You should start a collection of birds, you already have 2 to frame. Wow. Carly is talented. Her passion is definitely showing through. TFS Karen
