Scrapper’s Club Projects

February 13, 2009 by Alison Solven

13 Feb

Hello Scrappers,

Each month my Scrapper's Club gets together to make two 12 x 12 page spreads.  This month we focused on flowers and monochromatic tones.  I printed them some flower pictures in Sepia and used brown toned papers and accessories.

The flowers are from my garden and the garden of my friend, Sue Farrant.  Sue has an amazing garden (it's like paradise) with so many textures and features.  My garden is a typical English garden – just tons and tons of flowers to cut and bring in the house – not a lot of variety just lots of choices in each variety.  Each year I have about 400 different peony blooms. I love to take pictures of my little "babies".  The wagon wheel and passion flower are Sue's babies.

The quote is about Gardens which I printed on Vellum and layered on top of Sue's passion flower picture.

I used the Inspired By Nature stamp set (still available for purchase) and stamped the grass and flowers using Versamark ink to achieve the tone-on-tone look.  I then embossed the cone-flower in Whisper White EP.  The sayings are stamped using Chocolate Chip Craft ink and embossed with Clear EP.

The Designer Paper is the Delicate Dots from the Sale-a-bration offerings.

The smaller "pretties" flower was coloured using the CC Craft ink and a dauber – just place the flower on the pad and press it into the ink with the dauber.  It needs quite a bit of time to dry but you can speed it up with the heat tool – BUT be careful -the flower is silk and can easily burn.

Happy Scrapping!

Alison
