I've been having fun making little mini books using my Big Shot machine and dies. The first one is made using the Scallop Square die – love this one. I first applied the DP to both sides of the Chipboard and then ran it through the Big Shot. This way it cuts all three layers at the same time.
I used the new DP from the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalogue called Night & Day Specialty and it's a mix of black & white designs – LOVE it!
I used the Compliments to the Chef stamp set on the cover and on the interior pages. I set this up as a Mini Photo album – I imagined a special dinner party or perhaps a shower for a bride where the information about the Menu, Guests, Special Moments can be journalled and there are pages for pictures from the event too. You could even have guest autograph the last page with their thoughts of the evening.
Here's one of the inside pages – it's titled "You're Invited" and this is where you'd write the names of the guests that attended. The following pages can be used for pictures of the table, food and guests.
I bound the little book with the Bind-it-all machine.
Here's another sample using the Under the Stars stamp set – I thought this would make a great little album as a keepsake for a child going to camp (they could have their friends sign the last page and it can be filled with pictures from camp!) or even for a family camping trip. My customer, Alicja, thought it would be great just for a summer memory book for a child. His little belly and face have been paper-toled and popped up to add dimension.
The first page has the recipe for S'mores – it wouldn't be camping without these favourite treats!
Each of the inside pages has been decorated with the stamps from Under the Stars.
After I took the pictures I decided to add some ribbon to the coils to finish it off so imagine that embellishment – LOL
I'll be offering a class on either Saturday, September 19th at 10:30 am or on Thursday, September 24th at 7:00 pm for $25. We'll make both books in the class – one Bon Appetit and one Summer Memories. All supplies are included. Email me to register – class will be held in my studio in New Westminster.
