It's time for another Just in CASE post. Every Thursday (Patsy & I) post a card that has either been inspired by a card in the current catalogue or is a direct copy. We might switch up the colours, stamps or accessories.
Today's card is featured on page 70 of the Annual Catalogue and I choose to CASE the layout and elements but switch out the stamp set. When you start with one of the gorgeous samples in our catalogues (designed by our talented concept artists) it makes the creative process so much easier. This card came together really quickly.
Here is the original design which featured the Crazy about You stamp set and Hello You Thinlits dies.
- I started with the measurements which I just guessed at since they weren't offered
- Then I picked my stamp sets and framelits – I choose Falling Flowers & May Flowers Framelits (which comes as a bundle so you save 10% on the price when you purchase them together!)
- I added the word from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits
- I kept the colours similar to the original sample but wanted to include one of the new In Colors so I picked Sweet Sugarplum, Daffodil Delight and Cucumber Crush
I started by stamping the flowers in Sweet Sugarplum and Daffodil Delight. Then I added the stems from the Falling Flowers stamp set in Cucumber Crush. I cut out three of the leaves from the May Flowers Thinlits die and Cucumber Crush card stock. I glued the leaves to the back of the strip so that when I added Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up.
The "congrats" is cut from Basic Black card stock using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.
Don't you love the colours of the Thick Baker's Twine? This is Cucumber Crush which matches the ink of the stems.
