Another week has ticked by and it's time for Just in CASE Thursday post. Patsy and I chose a project from one of our catalogues and either recreate it exactly (CASE which means copy and share everything) or change the stamps, colours or embellishments to tweak it to a new card.
I'm officially (and unapologetic) obsessed with the Best Birds stamp set and matching Birds & Blooms Thinlits and before I move towards all the fabulous Christmas and holiday goodies in the Holiday Catalogue I wanted one last play date with this little birdie.
Let's start with my inspiration for my card which is on page 3 of the Holiday Catalogue.
I kept the layout of the card but substituted the Best Bird set (for the Holly Jolly Layers Host set) and the Sunshine Wishes Thinlit (instead of Christmas Greetings Thinlits). I switched out the colours for a vintage look and find that Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride are a perfect combination for this style.
I love to colour with our inks and Aqua Painter because it's an easy way to give your image a watercolour look. I also like to add Wink of Stella to the feathers on the wing – can you see it sparkle in this photo? The bird is coloured with Blushing Bride with Sweet Sugarplum for the wings and accents.
I embossed the Blushing Bride cardstock with the Happy Heart folder and cut "love" with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. I honestly don't know what I'd do without my Big Shot.

I used the music paper from This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper and just accordian folded it. I was making myself crazy with the direction of the paper until I realized that there is no "up" and "down" as the notes are all over the place.
Finished it off with Linen Thread and 5/8" Burlap Ribbon and every vintage card needs a Delicate White Doily.
