I love two step stamping because the layering of one image on top of the next is so easy and really gives dimension to the image. One of my favourites is the Sweet Cupcake Photopolymer stamp set. It's even easier to use because you can see right through the stamp so placement is perfect each time. This is actually "three step" because there are three separate stamps used to create both the cupcake liner and the frosting. Did you know that this kind of stamping was first introduced to the market by Stampin' Up! years ago. In fact, when I started with Stampin' Up! 14 years ago this was a real WOW for me.
I love the yummy colours in this card. You might be surprised to learn that I used one colour for the frosting – Melon Mambo. I know it looks like I used three different colours but by stamping off (inking your stamp and then taking some colour off by stamping on a scrap paper) you can create lighter versions of a dark ink. In the case of the frosting I stamped off twice for the solid image, then just one for the next one and finally full strength for the top. I finished off the yummy frosting with Clear Wink of Stella on the darkest areas and add some Rhinestones for bling. It truly does look good enough to lick.
One of the new products in the Annual Catalogue is the many offerings of Thick Baker's Twine including Melon Mambo to match the colours on my card. I added a strip of Pop of Pink Designer Washi Tape over that little strip of Basic Gray cardstock and added three little Rhinestones where the seams meet. Did you know that the Rhinestones have three long strips of little jewels all glued together? It's so easy to just cut off three of them (they hold together) and apply – no lining them up!
This card is making me hungry – maybe I should go and bake (or buy) some cupcakes. If you'd like to make this card for yourself I've including the full instructions - Enjoy!
