Stamp Crazy with Alison

Just in Case Free as A Bird

July 18, 2019 by Alison Solven

18 Jul

It's Just in Case Thursday – the day where Patsy Waggoner (my Border Buddy) and I share a card we've CASED (copy and selectively edit) from one of our current publications. Today's card uses the Free as a Bird Bundle from page 91 of the catalogue.

Just in Case Free as a Bird www.stampcrazywithalison.ca-2

I based my card on a sample featured on page 15 of the Annual Catalogue using the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper and the Here's a Card stamp set.

Just in Case Here's a Card www.stampcrazywithalison.ca

I changed up the colours, Designer Series Paper and stamp set to create my CASE.

Measurements:

  • Crumb Cake – 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
  • Petal Pink – 5 1/4" x 4"
  • Very Vanilla – 4" x 2 1/2"
  • Vellum Cardstock – 4 1/4" x 2 3/4"
  • Old Olive – 2 3/4" x 1/2"
  • Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper – 7 pieces cut to 4" x 3/4"

Instructions:

  1. Fold Crumb Cake cardstock in half to form card front.
  2. Sponge the edges of the Petal Pink layer with Crumb Cake ink and glue to the card front.
  3. Sponge all sides of each of the DSP strips with Crumb Cake ink. Glue to the Petal Pink as shown in the picture.
  4. Cut out the 3 1/4" wide Stitched Nested Dies from the Very Vanilla.
  5. Stamp the bird and leaves in Gray Granite ink on the left side of the die.
  6. Colour the bird with Crumb Cake Light and Petal Pink Light Stampin' Write Markers. Colour the leaves with Old Olive Light Stampin' Write Marker.
  7. Sponge the edges of the die with Crumb Cake ink.
  8. Cut out the 3 3/4" Stitched Nested Die from the Vellum Cardstock. Glue the stamped die piece to the vellum.
  9. Wrap some Linen Thread around your fingers and tape to the back of the vellum die cut. Pop up the piece with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  10. Stamp the sentiment in Memento Black ink on the Old Olive strip and glue to the card as shown.
  11. Add a Bird Ballad Trinket with a glue dot to the left side of the sentiment.
