It Started With an Invitation
Almost 25 years ago, I received an invitation from Stampin’ Up! to participate in a focus group and share my feedback about expanding Stampin’ Up! into the Canadian market. Six months later, Stampin’ Up! Canada® was incorporated in Halifax, Nova Scotia — and the rest, as they say, is history.
I’ve now been part of this company for 24½ years. I’ve watched products, catalogues, technology, compensation plans and the way we do business change many times over. And through all of those changes, I’ve continued to find reasons to love what I do.
It’s More Than Stamps
The products may have been what brought me into this business, but the people are a huge part of why I’ve stayed. Over the years, I’ve made lifelong friendships, built a team of creative people across Canada, watched customers discover their own creativity and shared countless hours making cards and memories. This memory from 12 years ago popped up in my Facebook Memories of a Top 100 Founder’s Retreat. I’m still friends with many of these demonstrators in the picture including my partner for classes Ange McKay!
For me, Stampin’ Up! has never been just about selling stamps and paper. It’s about creating, connecting and sharing something that brings people joy.
What I’m Loving Right Now
There is always something new on my craft table, and right now I’m having so much fun with the Stampin’ Hot Foil System! I’ve been playing with it quite a bit, and I love how adding a little foil can take a project from pretty to wow! There are also brand-new Hot Foil releases for the holiday season, and I can’t wait to see what else I can create with them.

I have to admit, the Flourish & Frames Bundle is my favourite. I LOVE bees, so those gorgeous images were an instant yes for me! And then I discovered that you can foil the beautiful frames and cut them out with the coordinating dies. Let’s just say it didn’t take me long to add this one to my order!
I’ve been having so much fun playing with the Hot Foil System, and this card was one of my first creations. I love how a little bit of foil can add so much elegance and just the right amount of WOW. I CASED (Copy and Share Everything) from a fellow demonstrator Cheri S. That’s another benefit of being a demonstrator – everyone shares ideas freely!
The Twinkling Tidings Bundle is such a fun one for the holiday season! I love the beautiful, sketchy Christmas trees and all the little details you can add to your projects. The coordinating dies make it easy to create layers and dimension, and of course, the Hot Foil pieces add that extra bit of sparkle. This one is definitely going to get a lot of use on my holiday cards this year!
And finally, Graceful Evergreen Deer — I love the peaceful, wintry feel of this one. The delicate evergreen trees, beautiful deer and touches of gold foil create such an elegant look for holiday cards. I especially love how the gold foil makes the deer feel like they’re glowing against that wintery background.
The Part That Matters Most
After more than 25 years, I’m incredibly grateful that I get to make a living doing something I genuinely love. I’m grateful for every customer, every demonstrator, every friendship and every handmade card that has crossed my path.
The products brought me in.
The people are a big part of why I stayed.
