Stamp Crazy with Alison

Coaster Mania…

March 8, 2007 by Alison Solven

8 Mar

Hello Stampers,

I placed an order for friends and myself for 5,000 coasters and they have arrived.  I can’t wait to see what everyone else will create with their little treasures.

100_40311My first project is a little travel book from our Mexican cruise last year.

I made a little chipboard label using our On Board accents and covered the coasters with paper from the Sentimental Journey designer papers.  I just use our glue sticks to adhere the paper to the coasters.  I know others use strong glue or Mod Podge but I find that too messy and I’ve never had a problem with just our wonderful glue stick.

I bound the book with Grosgrain ribbon and embellished the inside with some of the Hodgepodge Hardware pieces.  I punched the holes with my Crop-a-dile which goes through them like a knife through butter!

100_40331 I decorated the inside of the book with die cut stickers from the Simply Scrappin’ kit called Tickets & Tokens making coordinating the little book extremely easy.

100_40351 I made a little "pocket" for the picture from a 3 x 3 vanilla envelope which I decorated with the Balmy Breezes stamp set.  The little tab on the side of the envelope is made with our fabulous new Round Tab Punch.

100_40361 The last 2 pages are from Cabo San Lucas (the famous rocks are pictured here) and from our formal dinner night.  It’s so much fun dressing up and ordering 2 (or more!) entrees at one meal…so spoiled!

I’ve had fun making this little book – so fast and easy, especially with all the coordinating pieces.

My stamp night was made "perfect" when I decided to slip my Pride & Prejudice DVD into the player…I could watch this over and over..in fact I do…LOL  Who could resist Mr. Darcy as played by Colin Firth??  Not me.

Happy Stamping!

Alison
