Hello Stampers,
My friend, Sue Farrant, demonstrated the Frayed Ribbon technique at the Vancouver Regional Conference and it was truly a WOW. I’m now completely addicted to this fun technique. Here’s a quick tutorial – sorry for my chewed up nails – I’ve been doing a lot of gardening and it’s a casualty of the battle of the weeds.
Step 1 – start with a piece of Gros Grain Ribbon, scissors and your paper piercing tool.
Step 2 – cut off one edge of the ribbon.
Step 3 – loosen the fibers with your paper piercing tool (Sue’s tip).
Step 4 – pull away the fibers with your fingers by grabbing the loose ends and pulling away from the other edge.
Step 5 – This leaves you with the fibers and a great little fringe that can also be used in projects! Thanks Sue for introducing me to this fun and easy embellishment.
Here are some of my cards that our Stamping Club made using the Frayed Ribbon Technique.
Happy Stamping!
That’s so cute! I wish I could have seen Sue in action 🙂
