Hello Stampers,
I’ve been playing with the 3 x 3 card format a lot (more samples tomorrow) for my upcoming club meetings and was having so much fun that I got carried away a bit…
At Convention I received some beautiful swap cards but one of my absolute favourites was by Lori MacFarland from Redding, CA. I just thought this card was stunning – in fact I think I actually chased Lori down to get one of them. When I started to really look at this card I was struck by the fact that the card stock was shimmery. I know we carry Shimmery White card stock but Lori brayered Soft Sky ink onto the white to create a shimmery blue card. LOVE this card!
So…in keeping with my 3 x 3 format I copied Lori’s idea and created this little version of her card. I used the Shimmery White card stock and the Sof Sky ink. The swirl design from Baroque Motifs was stamped using Close to Cocoa ink and then I used the new Chocolate Taffeta ribbon and a little element with a brad as the final accent. This card is so nice in person – you can see the shimmer of the paper better in person.
So…if you are stuck for an idea look at cards and use the idea in a different way to create your own cards.
Happy Stamping!
Alison
